Text description provided by the architects. Canvas is a space for displaying furniture. The main concept was the architecture that is the backdrop of furniture and people, with emphasis on which buildings harmonize with the furniture. Considering the long shape of the ground, the building form is designed to be extended to the sky.
The exterior finish material was planned as an achromatic series of 500mm concrete brick through the ratio of long horizontal building. Because the long horizontal wall can be somewhat burdensome, I tried to minimize the burden by finishing it in a way of twisting and setting up the concrete bricks to make it look different from the viewpoint and the movement of the sun.
As the building stretches horizontally, the 2nd floor in the direction of the main entrance has about 7m of a cantilever structure including protruding finish, which is solved by the steel truss structure. The bottom of protruded mass forms a spatial tension and acts like a deep eave, naturally taking in the influx of people.
